Biannual Conference
The IAPFC holds conferences in the spring and fall of each year. The conference free for members and is typically a two-day event that includes one day of professional development that is open to all and the second day is the business meeting for IAPFC membership only. The professional development day is open to anyone who registers for the cost of $20.00 for non-member.

The Iowa Association of Professional Fire Chiefs is excited to announce the 2025 Fall Conference Professional Development Day Speaker & Program: Jason Brezler
Jason Brezler calls upon his extensive operational experience in the U.S. and abroad as he prepares
leaders in ultra-competitive and lethal industries to lead and perform at their best mentally, emotionally,
and morally. Jason is a FDNY Captain presently assigned to Division 1 in Manhattan. He was a
firefighter in Rescue Company 2 and a Lieutenant in Squad Co. 252 in Brooklyn. He is also a principal
architect of the FDNY’s Human Performance Strategic Initiative.
Prior to becoming a FDNY firefighter and building Leadership Under Fire, Jason began his career as an
officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has led Marines on several deployments abroad and was decorated
for his combat service while leading Marines in combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq and Helmand
Province, Afghanistan. He continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves and frequently lectures at
U.S. Service Academies about navigating leadership and moral dilemmas in complex and lethal
environments. Jason is the Founder of Leadership Under Fire.
